Notes on operating the motor

Our motor control unit is a battery-powered, radio-controlled motor. It only needs to be charged once a year. This means there is no need to drill or screw into the external roller blind, and no fixed power cable needs to be installed. Einbausituation

Das Außenrollo für Balkontüren und bodentiefe Fenster ist im Aufbau identisch – der Unterschied liegt lediglich im Bedienelement.

Bei Außenrollos für Balkontüren ist im Bedienelement ein Magnet integriert. Dieser ermöglicht das Öffnen des Behangs sowohl von innen als auch von außen.


Bei Außenrollos für bodentiefe Fenster ist ein Öffnen von außen in der Regel nicht erforderlich. Daher kommt hier das Standard-Bedienelement zum Einsatz, bei dem die Griffleiste ohne Magnet geklemmt wird.
Building regulations

For widths of 1300 mm or more, a maximum height of 1500 mm is possible.
Height

Our roller blinds are flexible in terms of height. Simply choose the appropriate range (e.g. 901–1400 mm). You can then adjust the exact height later during installation using the telescopic guide rails.
Slat colour

The colour of the slats is key to the appearance of the blind. The colours of the top rail, bottom rail, cords and plastic parts are matched to the slats. However, there may be slight variations.
Offset perforations

The openings for the cord and string are staggered so that they are concealed when the blind is closed, creating a cleaner look and providing better light blocking.

The bracket is screwed onto the window sash and secures the bottom rail with a magnet, preventing the blind from swinging out when the window is opened.

Insect screen width:
Measure the width of your external roller blind (=order width) and select the corresponding width from the drop-down menu. If your external roller blind for heat protection does not have a standard size, please select the next larger width in the drop-down menu and inform us of your exact external roller blind width in the order notes in the shopping cart!


Insect screen height:
Measure the height from the bottom edge of the roller blind box to the top edge of the connecting profile of the external roller blind. See pictures!

FAQ

Can the fixed frame be used with a motorised external roller blind?

No, unfortunately that isn’t possible. With a motorised external roller blind, there is a risk that the fabric will get caught on the fixing clips of the fixed frame. With manual operation, however, this can be easily avoided, as the handle bar can simply be guided past the brackets when operating the blind.

Will I still be able to operate the external roller blind once the fixed frame has been fitted?

Yes, that’s no problem at all. The fixed insect screen frame is fitted on the outside, in front of the external roller blind, so that the blind can still be operated as normal from the inside.

Can I use the fixed insect screen frame without the external roller blind?

No. The fixed insect screen frame is designed exclusively as an accessory for our CLIP & SHADE external roller blind. It is hooked directly into the installed external roller blind and uses its guide rails for attachment. It cannot therefore be used without the external roller blind.

My external roller blind is a non-standard width – how do I order the right fixed frame?

If your external roller blind has a non-standard width, simply select the next largest available width for the insect screen fixed frame.

IMPORTANT: Please then enter the exact width of the external roller blind (the outer width of the blind) in the comments field of your order.

We will then adjust the fixed frame to fit your external roller blind accordingly

Will I need to cut or adjust anything during installation?

No, the frame is already cut to size when it is delivered. All you need to do is assemble it and fit the gauze.

How do I measure the fixed insect screen frame correctly?

The fixed frame for the insect screen can only be measured correctly once the external roller blind has been installed.

Why? The fixed frame is attached directly to the installed roller blind and is based on its height, which varies due to the telescopic rails of the external roller blind.

Procedure:

  • First, install the external roller blind.
  • Then determine the width and height for the fixed frame (see measurement diagram).
  • Next, order the appropriate fixed frame.
How is the fixed insect screen frame fitted?

The decorative frame is installed without drilling.

It is simply hooked into the guide rails of the already installed external roller blind using retaining clips and is then securely fixed in place.
